NoMYST Scout is an Android app for mobile-network and Wi-Fi coverage measurement: it compares carriers at the same spot, tracks one cell in real time and documents how repeatably each detection returns from one pass to the next.

Scout, in the field.
Carrier and Wi‑Fi network names have been replaced. Measurements, charts and instrument logic remain visible.

Wi‑Fi Analyser
Scout immediately qualifies the Wi‑Fi environment around the measurement point.
Technicians can compare locations and understand the radio context before installing or moving equipment.
Multi-carrier Tester and Scan
Several networks are observed at the same point and time, without depending on a single SIM card.
Levels, quality, visible cells and repeatability reveal the most favourable carrier network or source under the site’s real conditions.
Selective Tracker
A detected cell, band or source becomes a target that is followed dynamically while moving.
Instant feedback supports router and IoT device positioning, discovery of a better source and real-time antenna alignment.
Campaigns with instant results
Scout accumulates observations, measures repeatability and builds the result while the campaign is running.
The report is ready when the test ends: measured facts, comparison and useful interpretation. There is no delay for external data analysis.
A measurement that exposes its limits
Who it is for, and when
- 4G/5G router installerFind the position and orientation that lock onto the most stable cell, by following its level while you move.
- IoT or metering integratorPick the most favourable carrier on a site before ordering SIM cards, without swapping cards in the device.
- Car-park or EV-charging operatorCheck that a charging point or controller in a basement keeps a repeatable link, not just a signal seen once.
- Building technical managerCompare Wi-Fi levels and channel occupancy floor by floor, and document a weak area before calling a contractor.
What Scout replaces, and what it does not
| Compared with… | What Scout brings | What the other tool keeps |
|---|---|---|
| A speed test | Throughput measures a link's capacity at one instant. Scout shows what makes it possible: which cell, which band, which level, and whether that cell comes back from one pass to the next. | A speed test remains the right tool to quantify capacity once the source is chosen. |
| A consumer cell-info app | Those apps display what the phone decided to attach to. With the optional module, Scout observes the other carriers and the cells the phone ignores, and counts the passes in which each one is seen. | To read your own phone's current cell quickly, a free app is enough. |
| A laboratory analyser | Scout fits in a pocket, costs a fraction of the price and gives an interpreted reading on site, with no external processing. | A calibrated professional scanner remains necessary for an enforceable measurement, a certification or fine spectral analysis. |
Multi-carrier module (optional)
Without the module, Scout uses the phone's modem: Wi-Fi analysis, tracking of the current cell, campaigns on the network of the installed SIM.
The multi-carrier scan requires an external NoMYST module, available in two versions: a 2G/3G/4G module and a 5G module (5G NSA and SA). The module carries the measurement; the phone is only the host.
The multi-carrier scan works only with an active Premium subscription. The module includes its first months of Premium; without a subscription it becomes inactive. This condition is stated before any purchase.
Modules and accessories are sold on the online shop nomyst.store.
Frequently asked questions about Scout
Does Scout work without the module?
Yes. Without the module, Scout analyses 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, tracks the cell the phone is attached to and runs campaigns on the network of the installed SIM. The module adds the view of the other carriers.
What is the difference between the phone's scan and the multi-carrier scan?
The phone only reports the network it chose and a few neighbours. The module observes every carrier present, band by band, and ranks cells by level and by the number of passes in which they are seen.
What does “seen 5/5” mean?
The cell was found in each of the five scan passes. A cell seen 1/5 appeared once: it exists, but nothing proves it is usable. That is the repeatability counter.
Why are carriers anonymised on the screenshots?
Published screenshots are real measurements. Carrier and Wi-Fi network names are replaced so that a local finding does not become a general judgement about a carrier.
Does Scout record a GPS position?
Android requires the location permission to read Wi-Fi scans and cell information; Scout asks for it for that reason only. It stores no coordinates in the measurements and sends none anywhere. Campaign points are numbered (P001, P002…) and described by the technician.
